The research paper, "Columnist Modeling with Large Language Models," by students from Sabancı University's Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, was selected as the "Best Paper" in the "Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence" category at the 33rd IEEE Signal Processing and Communication Applications Conference (SIU 2025).
Undergraduate students Görkem Afşin, Baturalp Arslan Kabadayı, and Eren Özdil achieved great success with their paper entitled "Columnist Modeling with Large Language Models" covering their project developed under the supervision of Sabancı University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences faculty members Onur Varol and Kamer Kaya as part of the ENS 491/492 course. The paper, presented at the 33rd IEEE Signal Processing and Communication Applications Conference (SIU 2025), held on Işık University's Şile Campus from June 25-28, was awarded the "Best Paper" award in the "Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence" category.
We congratulate our students on their success at the conference, which featured research articles from across Turkey with a particularly strong focus on graduate student work.
